This old garden hat has been through alot! Poking through the hat is an antique chair sitting next to an old, battered door.

Art has been a constant for the majority of my life. I drew people and designed clothing when I was very young, which turned into a love of portraits in my teenage years. I found colored pencil and it has been my go-to medium for over 30 years. My colored pencil work tends to be a realistic style, which is easy to achieve with this medium. I like to create pieces that are beautiful and that people enjoy looking at. I usually work from a photograph but feel as though I can take liberties with colors that might not show in the original reference photo, which I have done with Blue and Watercolor Dahlia.
